The Mystery of the Missing Makeup Towels

As an Airbnb host, I’ve learned to expect the unexpected. Guests leave behind all sorts of things—chargers, single socks, even an occasional pineapple (seriously, that happened once). But one item that consistently doesn’t get left behind: my beloved black makeup towels. Yes, those soft, perfectly sized towels meant for washing off makeup have become my most frequently “adopted” Airbnb amenity.

Makeup Towels: The MVP of My Airbnb Bathrooms

I introduced these towels as a solution to a recurring problem: the tragic death of white bath towels. White towels and makeup don’t mix, and after losing too many to mascara smears and foundation mishaps, I invested in these handy black makeup towels. They’re soft, durable, and perfect for a nighttime skincare routine. It’s like they were designed to say, “Hey, use me—I’m here to save the white towels!”

The Great Makeup Towel Heist

And here’s where things get interesting. For some reason, these little towels keep disappearing. It’s as if guests form such a deep bond with them that they just can’t say goodbye. I get it—they’re soft, reliable, and a beauty routine essential. But the thing is, these towels weren’t meant to be part of your souvenir collection. So, if you’ve ever considered “adopting” one of my makeup towels, I have a humble request…

Please Don’t Steal Them—Just Buy Your Own!

Yes, you read that right! You can buy your very own set of makeup towels on Amazon. They’re affordable and available in bulk, and you won’t have to sneak them out of your suitcase like you’re on a covert mission. You can use them at home, in the gym, or anywhere else you want to keep your whites safe from smudges.

Help Me Save the Makeup Towels

Next time you’re packing up from a wonderful stay, just remember: the makeup towels are not souvenirs—they’re staying put. Let’s work together to keep these little lifesavers in the bathroom where they belong. If you truly miss them, click “Add to Cart” instead of “Add to Luggage.”

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk… and please leave the makeup towels behind!
